Workday Admin

Role and Responsibilities:

For the past two years, I have served as an administrator of Workday, managing a range of learning and development tasks. My responsibilities include creating blended and digital lessons, courses, and programs. Additionally, I am in charge of developing learning campaigns, handling enrollments, and generating completion reports as needed.

System Management:

Workday provides robust reporting capabilities, allowing me to generate comprehensive completion reports for all courses in the system. These reports detail the lessons included, the enrolled learners, and their status ("Not started," "In progress," or "Completed"). For specific courses, the reports also indicate whether learners have "Passed" or "Failed."

Content Management:

I both create and manage content within Workday, ensuring all materials are organized and accessible. We maintain the Workday files in company development folders, categorized by project for easy access.

Communication:

Workday's automated system sends reminders to employees to complete their courses. Upon enrollment, employees receive an automatic email notification and, for instructor-led training (ILT), a calendar invite is added to their schedules. I use the Learning and Development (L&D) email to communicate any changes or updates to courses that might impact employee progress.

Collaboration:

My L&D team collaborates closely with the Workday management team at the company. We hold monthly meetings to discuss updates, issues, and questions. The Workday management team focuses on the user experience within Workday, while our team is responsible for the learning content. This collaboration ensures that both the user experience and learning content are optimized for our employees.

Impact and Results:

Through effective administration and collaboration, our use of Workday has enhanced the company's training and development efforts. The system's automated reminders and reporting capabilities have streamlined the learning process, ensuring that employees stay on track with their training. This structured approach has improved overall course completion rates and has provided valuable insights into learner progress and outcomes.

By maintaining clear communication and a well-organized content management system, we have created a seamless learning experience that supports employee development and aligns with the company's goals.
